This is the first book of its kind: a general history of Bel Air
shown through almost 200 historic photographs. Many of the
photos are being published for the first time, generously
offered by area residents, merchants, and professionals. The
Historical Society of Harford County and other groups have made
their archives available as well.
You’ll see images of everyday life in Bel Air: homes, shops,
industries, vehicles, leisure activities, and, of course, the
people. What makes my book different is its visual emphasis.
I've searched for photos of Bel Air from years gone by and
turned up many never before published glimpses of bygone days.
This 128-page book of almost 200 photos and captions will remain
in Arcadia’s active catalogue, to be reprinted as necessary.
Arcadia is the nation’s #1 publisher of history books with over
2,000 titles in print, dedicated to preserving the histories of
towns like Bel Air. Their commitment to making this a quality
book is as strong as mine.
Since its publication in September of 2004, the book has had a
wonderful reception with over 3500 copies sold in just the first
four months. The
publisher's stock of the entire first printing (1500 copies) was
gone in just three weeks. Now in its fifth printing. |
